Curriculum Overview

Residency program lasts 4 years in Cardiology, Interventional cardiology and diagnostic clinics.

PGY-1:

The first year of the cardiology program builds core knowledge in physiology, pathophysiology, and clinical cardiology. Residents rotate through internal medicine, radiology, and emergency medicine, gaining foundational skills in EKG, echocardiography, and cardiac imaging. The program also covers emergency and ICU management, stress testing, and Holter monitoring. Regular case discussions and mentoring enhance clinical reasoning and decision-making.

PGY 2:

The second year aims to deepen expertise in managing coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias using advanced therapeutic strategies. Residents refine their skills in pharmacologic treatment and gain hands-on experience with cardiac devices and imaging techniques. The program emphasizes clinical decision-making through supervised practice and scientific discussions.

PGY 3-4:

The third and fourth years focus on mastering interventional cardiology techniques, especially percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). Residents gain hands-on experience in managing acute coronary syndromes and performing complex procedures. Training emphasizes clinical decision-making in emergencies and intensive practice in catheterization labs under expert supervision.
