The Gynecology and Obstetrics Residency Program at Central Asian University, in collaboration with AKFA Medline University Hospital, has a goal of excellence in Gynecology and Obstetrics training and an aim to train exceptionally talented residents.
Our mission is to educate the next generation of specialists, teachers, leaders and researchers at the forefront of women’s health. It provides a structured and comprehensive training experience that meets international standards. The program is designed to develop highly skilled gynecologists equipped with the knowledge and expertise to perform complex surgical procedures.
Our residents will gather comprehensive clinical and surgical competence in order to succeed in general ob/gyn practice, ready to pursue any goal in gynecology and obstetrics they want. Our educational model is based on the advanced patient-centered care.
Training with renowned international gynecologists
- Exposure to minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery 
- Hands-on experience in General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gynecologic oncology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Family planning, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery 
- National and International clinical rotations and research opportunities

The Gynecology and Obstetrics Residency Program Residency Program is a 4-year program structured to provide comprehensive training in all subspecialties of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY-1) – Foundations of Gynecology and Obstetrics:
- Core rotations in general surgery, anaesthesiology, medicine, and paediatrics 
- Hands-on training in basic endoscopic and diagnostic procedures 
- Introduction to gynecologic and obstetric emergencies and inpatient care 
Postgraduate Year 2 (PGY-2) – Advanced Clinical Training:
- Rotations in oncologic gynecology, reconstructive pelvic medicine, functional gynecology and obstetrics
- Training in laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgical techniques
- Participation in clinical research and surgical gynecology case studies
Postgraduate Year 3 (PGY-3) – Subspecialty Focus:
- Specialization in Obstetrics, Gynecologic oncology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Family planning, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery
- Performing complex obstetric and gynecologic procedures under supervision
- Teaching and mentoring junior residents
Postgraduate Year 4 (PGY-4) – Chief Residency Year
- Lead surgical teams in high-level procedures
- Independent decision-making in clinical and surgical settings
- Preparation for board certification and international fellowships

Graduates of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Residency Program are prepared for careers in:
- Gynecology and Obstetrics subspecialties such as Gynecologic oncology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Family planning, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, and transplant gynecology 
- Academic and research institutions focused on obs/gyn innovations 
- Hospital leadership roles in obs/gyn departments 
- International fellowships and further subspecialty training

- Bachelor’s Degree / Medical Doctor (MD) qualification 
- English Proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent) 
- Successful completion of an entrance interview 
The tuition fee for the Residency Programs at Central Asian University is $50,000 per year. This fee covers:
- Full academic curriculum and clinical training
